Modern Slavery Act 2015 Statement for Renaissance Learning, UK Ltd.
We at Renaissance Learning, UK Ltd. are committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.
We are an online software provider in the education sector. Our parent company is Renaissance Learning, Inc. The Group has over 1,000 employees worldwide and has offices in the USA, Canada, UK and Australia whilst providing product and support to customers in many more countries around the world.
Our business has two business units: USA and Canada, and International (that includes our offices based in the UK and Australia and supports further countries from these locations).
Our supply chains
In the UK our supply chains include third party suppliers who supply small incentive gifts to students to reward and encourage them in coordination with the successful use of our software. These incentives are sourced by our third party fulfilment agent Colman and Lee Resources from a small range of suppliers.
Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-Slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we always check with our suppliers to provide us with their Anti-Slavery Policy. Only after this has been reviewed and assessed will Renaissance trade with the third party.
We have systems in place to:
- Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
- Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Protect whistle blowers.
Supplier adherence to our values
We do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we have in place a supply chain compliance programme. This consists or continually assessing our third party suppliers to ensure they comply with their own Anti-Slavery Policy.
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff.
Following a review of the effectiveness of the steps we have taken in 2016 to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains we intend to take the following further steps to combat slavery and human trafficking by continuing to monitor our third party suppliers.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Renaissance’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2016.
