New AR Christmas quizzes have arrived!
By Krista Culbertson, Assistant Editor
‘Tis the season for cosy jumpers, hot drinks, and best of all: new Christmas books! New Christmas books means new AR quizzes on more Christmas and winter-inspired books! Dozens of new quizzes have arrived in the last few weeks, and more are being added this month.
With so many great books to choose from, the Content team have selected our favourite Christmas Reads from the most-recently published quizzes.
Cosy picture books for Christmas story-time
We’ve quizzed a number of dazzling Christmas-themed picture books this year. It was tough to choose our favourites!
In The Christmas Show a boy is cast as a shepherd in his class’s Christmas play. During the show, though, things don’t quite go as planned. The text is
hilarious, and the illustrations only add to the humour of the story, making it as fun to read as it is to look at.

Little Grey Rabbit’s Christmas is the perfect classic Christmas read. Our quiz writer called the book
“adorable”. The story, while originally published in 1939, is still accessible reading for a new generation of young readers.

For some wintery reads, our Senior Editor Sarah loved Rabbit’s Bad Habits, a laugh-out-loud story about a bear and a rabbit who build a snowman after Bear wakes up early from hibernation. But when Wolf begins to chase Rabbit, it’s up to Bear to save her new friend. This is the first book in a series that is sure to be a hit with children.

Festive books from popular series
For older readers, many of their favourite characters appear in seasonal Christmas stories. This year’s selection of new quizzes revisits a football-playing boy, a girl growing up with Father Christmas, and a spunky heroine.
If your students enjoy the Frankie’s Magic Football series, there are three holiday stories to choose from. The latest, The Elf Express, follows Frankie and his friends as they spend their holiday in Austria visiting Frankie’s pen-pal. Magical adventures ensue when they meet a lost Christmas elf.
This quiz writer loved the adventure and great escape. But most of all enjoyed reading about Austrian Christmas traditions!
