Quiz updates postponed for maintenance
By Cecelia Powell, Managing Editor
Our quiz writers and content editors have recently published the 27,000th Reading Practice quiz for AR. Over the past 15 years, the software we have used to edit the quizzes has remained largely unchanged. This summer, it is being replaced with a cutting edge system that will make it significantly easier for the team to publish quizzes. (Teachers and children using AR will not notice any changes to the programme.)
Regrettably, in order to replace our internal quiz entry system we have had to suspend the publication of new quizzes for a period of a few weeks. This means that no new quizzes will be appearing on our hosted sites until part-way through the summer holidays.
We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause. We have timed this change for the start of the summer holidays in order to keep disruption to a minimum. Making the change earlier rather than later in the holiday period will ensure that our new system is up and running well in time for the new school year.
Rest assured that our team will be working as hard as ever through the coming weeks, producing a consistent number of high-quality quizzes on the usual broad range of books. All of the quizzes approved for use during this time will be published together using our new software in a few weeks’ time, ready and waiting for children to take when they return to school after the summer break.
We will post an update to the Books & Quizzes blog once our new system is in place and quizzes are being published again. Thank you for bearing with us in the meantime.
