Getting started

MathsFacts in a Flash is available by subscription and hosted online at Renaissance Place (RP).  Practice can be completed at any time, and pupils can take practice tests using CRS (Classroom Response System) Responders or Renaissance Learning’s versatile NEO 2 writing tool.

MFF helps pupils of all ages and abilities achieve success in mathematics in five simple steps:

1. Baseline test Pupils complete a timed test for each new maths level to establish their level of understanding
2. Personalised practice Pupils practice problems at their current level, including any missed on their previous test
3. Mastery Pupils complete timed tests to establish whether or not they have mastered the maths level
4. Progression Pupils progress to the next maths level on successful completion, or ‘mastery’, of the goal set for the test
5. Instant data Detailed reports provide teachers with an instant snapshot of the pupils’ progress

Home Connect is a unique feature of RP that significantly aids home-school communication by allowing parents and guardians to access information about their child’s progress with AMA. They can log in from their home computer and monitor progress by viewing TOPS Reports, and up to six family members can automatically receive email updates once a test has been completed. Pupils can also score practice assignments and test new objectives. Additional practice can also be completed using Renaissance Learning’s MathsFacts in a Flash software...read more
