Star Assessments

Under normal circumstances, we would not recommend that schools administer Star Assessments remotely. However, we want to provide clear information to help you make the decisions about whether to include assessments as part of your instruction plans.

The Implementation Guide has been created for both new and long-standing users of Star Assessments and Accelerated Reader

Identify and close learning gaps caused by COVID-19 with Focus Skills. Based on extensive research into how learning progresses in reading and mathematics from Reception to Year 11, Focus Skills provide a roadmap for closing learning gaps.

Watch this research-based webinar to see where to access Reception to Year 11 Focus Skills for free—and how to use them to close performance gaps this school year.

Whilst we always recommend only assessing your students in school in order to maintain fidelity, we appreciate that this isn’t always possible due to unexpected closure. This article tells you more about assessing outside of school.

Accelerated Reader

Due to school closures across the United Kingdom and Ireland, we have changed our guidance to allow Accelerated Reader quizzing at home for the period of school closures.

Read how children can also complete AR quizzes about their books to help monitor their progress when they are out of school.
