Peter J Murray was born and brought up in Rotherham. He left the declining steel industry back in 1979 and entered the teaching profession, taking up a first appointment as a Maths teacher at Aston Comprehensive School. Fifteen years later, Peter progressed to Assistant Head of the famous Cheam School in Berkshire, the seat of learning for Prince Charles and his father before him.

It was only eight years ago that Peter’s niece reminded him of a childhood game in which he created his infamous Mokee Joe – a spooky character designed to thrill and scare his two sons along with his nieces and nephews. Peter felt compelled to write a story about Mokee Joe and the rest, as they say, is history. Mokee Joe became a best-selling trilogy and Peter travels the world promoting and presenting his spooky, spine-tingling books.
