Whilst many training sessions can be delivered remotely via the internet, some schools prefer to
receive the information in person, which is why we have created the following on-site Professional
Development days for Accelerated Reader:

Start-up Day
On-site training is an opportunity for all your staff to increase their knowledge of AR. One of our dedicated Implementation Specialists will visit your school and guide your AR Team through the software, reports and discuss the benefits of STAR Reading and Accelerated Reader. The hands-on experience of using AR will also enable teachers to successfully use the software in the classroom with their pupils. As a start-up day we will demonstrate the whole process from STAR Reading assessment through to launching and establishing AR quizzing, and there will also be an opportunity for a Q&A session.

Monitoring and Refining the Implementation of AR
This training day supports staff as follows:

1.  A dedicated Renaissance Consultant will take you through the reports in Renaissance Place and show you how to best use the data available to monitor your pupils’ progress. They will also explain the features of the Dashboard; a graphic representation of your school’s progress displaying the weekly or monthly activity of AR in your school on one page.
2.  If you prefer to have your pupils working in teams, the Renaissance Consultant will show you how to monitor their progress as a group within AR and incorporate the competitive edge that can sometimes prove highly motivating.
3. By introducing you to Renaissance Accreditation we shall help enable your pupils to recognise each other’s academic success as they strive for a higher level of achievement. The Model Classroom award recognises success in implementation of AR as pupils reach their goals, which are set over a twelve week period.
