We offer a flexible approach to NEO 2 training sessions that are delivered in your school and can be tailored to meet the needs of your staff. During the full day’s training session, staff can be trained to work together to understand and familiarise themselves with the following features of NEO 2:

Basic Functioning of the NEO 2
This part of the session introduced new users to NEO 2, encouraging ‘hands on’ experience of using it for learning and teaching across the curriculum. Staff will be taken through a series of step-by-step guides to raise awareness and basic skills in using NEO 2.

Individual Writing with the NEO 2 including Classroom Management, Resource Ideas and Creation
In this section you will be shown a wide range of resources and ideas to support effective writing. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss and experience the advantages of using the NEO 2 as a writing and learning tool – including a detailed demonstration of how it can be used to support reluctant writers.

Group Writing with NEO 2 including Classroom Management, Resource Ideas and Creation
This section shows the ways in which NEO 2 can help enhance guided and collaborative writing and focuses on using NEO 2 for developing keyboarding skills, learning touch typing and extending writing skills for group writing. You will also be shown some of the unique ‘whole class writing’ features of NEO 2 as well as learning how work can be shared by “beaming” it backwards and forwards between NEOs. |

AfL using NEO 2 including Classroom Management, Resource Ideas and Creation
Assessment for Learning (AfL) has become a key issue for many schools. In this important part of the session we will demonstrate the assessment tools provided with NEO 2 to support learning and teaching. You will be shown both the 2Know! toolbar, NEO Share and the more sophisticated AccelTest feature. There will be plenty of opportunity to see how our free software can be used to enhance and extend teaching and learning for a whole class and small groups using the NEO 2. As well as providing a comprehensive range of pre-written assessment libraries, you will be shown how to adapt these to create new assessments entirely from scratch to suit the needs of your pupils.

Accelerated Reader Quizzing Using NEO 2 including Accelerated Maths and MathsFacts in a Flash (if applicable)
For schools already using Accelerated Reader and/or Accelerated Maths and MathsFacts in a Flash, this part of the session demonstrates how NEO 2 can be used to streamline the quizzing and testing process whilst maximising existing computer resources.

Alternatively you can opt to have two half day sessions on the same day, which will still cover the main topics listed above but allows less time for staff to explore and create resources for themselves. A third option is to split the day into three shorter sessions that provide staff with an introduction to the main themes and key aspects of NEO 2.
A further option is to include within the training day demonstrations of how NEO 2 can support Special Needs.SEN pupils have always made good use of the NEO and this session will provide an excellent opportunity to explore the variety of new ways in which the NEO 2 can be used to extend inclusion in the classroom. We also show how teachers can support individual needs in the classroom. Specific learning needs will be addressed and linked to particular features of the NEO 2 and supporting software. You will see how pupils’ learning needs can be supported using ‘Text2Speech’ and Co:Writer, as well as the ‘built-in’ features of NEO 2.
