"When we try to setup the Wireless Server Utility for use of Accelerated reader on Neo 2 we cannot verify the connection."

Cause

This is caused by the proxy. You should refer this issue to the IT department.

What causes the problem?
When the Wireless Server Utility attempts to verify the connection with your Renaissance Place address it attempts to connect to the internet via port 443. However, most proxies are setup to divert traffic through another port. In most cases if a HTTPS website is accessed in a web browser the proxy knows that the site is safe and allows the traffic through. However, because the Wireless server Utility is not sending the request via Internet Explorer the proxy requires authentication to verify the traffic is safe. Our software supports only basic proxy authentication and so in most cases the error code appears.

Solution
Allow the Wireless server Utility to by-pass the proxy. You should speak with your proxy provider and request them to allow your Renaissance place address to bypass the proxy. If they allow this then you would need to enter the same exception in Internet Explorer at the school and the program will work.

To add the exception at the school level you should: Select Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced > Enter your Renaissance Place address in to the exceptions field (e.g. https://ukhosted1.renlearn.co.uk/11111).

It is important to note that unless the proxy provider has already allowed this address to bypass the proxy adding the above exception will not work. In the vast majority of cases you will need administrator access to the network to change any of the setting mentioned in this document.
