What’s New in Accelerated Maths Renaissance Place 3.5

The primary focus for the Accelerated Maths™ Renaissance Place™ 3.5 version is to improve objective list and standards management in Accelerated Maths for new and existing users as well as to add Examples.

Maths Examples

At the release of Accelerated Maths 3.5, all objectives will have an Example. Since this new content is hosted at Renaissance Learning, customers will not need to install or update their libraries to get this new content. The new content will be available to hosted customers automatically once the new content is available.

Ability to search for objectives in your objective list

In the Assign, Print Exercise, Print Diagnostic, Hold/Reset/Unassign, Pupil Detail and Manage Objectives pages, we are adding the ability to search for objectives currently in your objective list. If a teacher teaches a lesson on fractions, they can quickly search for fraction objectives in their list and assign or print for that objective without scrolling through their list to find the objectives.

National Numeracy Strands

In order to integrate National Numeracy Strands throughout the Management application, teachers will have the ability to show the Strand anywhere they are viewing an objective. If a user turns off National Numeracy Strands by clicking on the icon on any page, Accelerated Maths will remember this setting and turn off National Numeracy Strands on all pages until the user enables them again by clicking on the icon again.

Add/Remove Objectives

To help teachers with objective list creation, we have added their objective list on the right side of the Add/Remove Objectives page. As a teacher adds an objective to their list, the objective will appear on the right hand side.
On the right hand side we have also added the ability to remove an objective as well as icons to view the Example The Example will pop up in a separate, smaller window.

Select/Copy Existing List

To try to simplify using and copying existing objective lists, several changes will be made. Instead of having School and Private lists, users will have the option to share their objective list or not. If a list is shared, it will appear in the Shared section and if it is not shared it will appear in the My Lists section. Behind the scenes, AM will still only allow Administrators (or people with that capability) to share lists for the entire School Administrators (or people with that capability) to share lists for a school. Teachers by default will not have the ability to share objective lists.
In addition, to the right of the options to Use selected list without changes or Make a copy of the list, there will be an icon that when clicked will pop up additional text to explain the option to the user. The text for the Use selected list without changes option should be “Chooses the list "as is" for the class. If the owner makes changes to the objectives or the objective order, those changes will happen for your class too.” The text for the Make a copy of the list option should be “Makes a copy of the list to use for this class. Any changes made to the objectives or order in the original list won't apply to your new copy, but you can make your own changes as needed.”
