What’s New in STAR Reading Renaissance Place 4.4

The primary focus for the STAR Reading™ Renaissance Place™ 4.4 version is make product enhancements including: making alternate book levels more apparent to users by renaming alternate scores ATOS 2000 and ZPD 2000.

Reports

In an attempt to be consistent throughout our products and to make alternate scores more apparent and easy to use for customers using Lexiles, Alternate Score and Alternate ZPD have been renamed to ATOS 2000 and ZPD 2000.The customer still has the ability to change the default. The following nine reports contain the option of including the renamed score columns:

• Diagnostic Report
• Growth Report
• Parent Report
• Progress Monitoring Report
• Reading Range Report
• Snapshot Report
• Summary Report
• Test Record Report

Estimated Oral Reading Fluency

Estimated Oral Reading Fluency (Est. ORF) tables were made available in 2008. Est. ORF is an estimate of a pupil’s ability to read words quickly and accurately in order to comprehend text efficiently. Customers began to see Est. ORF scores displayed on many STAR Reading reports. Please note that Estimated Oral Reading Fluency is only reported on STAR Reading tests taken in years 2-4.

Preferences

Because alternate scores have been renamed, the preferences page has been updated. The Alt. Score option has been changed to ATOS 2000 and the Alt. ZPD has been changed to ZPD 2000. This preference allows users to rename these titles.
The Monitor Password Preference can now be managed by the classroom teacher and the administrator of the program.
