In markets where mobility and information gathering are key, such as writers, journalists and research professionals, rugged, easy to use computing devices enable greater efficiency and mobility.
Conditions of Use
Please note that at present this webstore is only available to Schools, Colleges and Local Authorities based in the United Kingdom.
If you are a private individual in the UK or the European Union wishing to purchase by credit card, debit card or PayPal please visit our credit card store.
The price of an item displayed in this store, is deemed as that which is quoted in UK Pounds Sterling (GBP). Please note that if prices are displayed in any other currencies on the site they are intended as a ‘guide’ price only and are based on a recent currency conversion rate. The price charged is based on the conversion applied by our secure Payment Service Provider at the time of purchase and is clearly displayed prior to confirmation of the order.
All prices, unless otherwise stated, exclude UK Value Added Tax (VAT), this will be charged in addition to the total cost of goods and shipping (if applicable) and is presently 17.5%.

Making a Purchase
The NEO Schools Webstore allows you as a schools customer to build a shopping basket of your NEO 2 product requirements simply and easily. Just browse through the site clicking the “Add to Basket” button next to the product you desire. This will take you to your shopping basket page giving you the further option to go back into the store to continue shopping or to “Checkout” and finalise you purchases.
There are two options available to you as an establishment purchasing from the NEO School Store when you come to “Checkout”:
- Register for an account with Renaissance Learning UK Ltd and get an “RL School ID number”, this will mean you do not have to send us a School Purchase Order to confirm your order, and will also mean that we will give you exclusive special offers and keep you abreast of all the updates that happen. Go to the registration section to find out more.
- Complete your order without registering. This means that once you have submitted you order to us by clicking the “checkout” button in your shopping basket you will then be prompted to also send us an AUTHORISED PURCHASE ORDER (PO), this can either be a completed Local Authorities Purchase Order Form, one specific to your school or one created and printed to your school’s headed paper.You can send your completed authorised PO to:

We will then contact you briefly to confirm your order. We will fulfill your order as soon as we receive your Authorised Purchase Order if you have not previously registered and purchased with a RL School ID Number.
Once your order has been confirmed, processed and dispatched an invoice will be raised and sent to you, your establishment will have 30 days from the date of invoice to make payment in full. Your establishment can pay by the following methods:

Shipping and Handling
Shipping, Handling and Postage are free for orders in excess of £50 (ex VAT). Orders under this value will be charged at £7.49 (ex VAT).
We presently only ship to the UK. Please contact RLUK separately at email@example.com for more information if you require shipment to other countries.

If you do attempt to place an order outside of the UK, you will be unable to proceed past entering your delivery details in the checkout area of the web store as the country will not be listed in the “change country” drop down menu. Should you manage to get past this and successfully process your order we will contact you separately to discuss your options.
All orders will be dispatched within 5 working days of receipt of order. On the rare occasion that items are out of stock you will be informed by email and you will not be charged until such time as the goods are available again and dispatched to you.
Deliveries will be made by recognised couriers, a tracking number and courier web details will be provided within your despatch confirmation email.
Orders within the UK will be delivered within 2 working days of dispatch.
If you have a query on a considered late delivery please only contact us once the above time periods have lapsed.
Under the UK Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel your sales contract with us within 7 days.
Should you wish to cancel an order once it has been confirmed, please forward your order confirmation email to firstname.lastname@example.org clearly writing “CANCELLATION” at the front of the email Subject field to read similar to CANCELLATION FW: NEO2 School Webstore Confirmation Email for order ref: XXxxxxxxx, this will allow us to respond to your email more promptly, your cancellation and subsequent refund may be delayed if you fail to do this.
If the order has already been dispatched, we will inform you by return of e-mail, and advise you of our returns policy (documented below).
Please note that your statutory rights are not affected by these Terms and Conditions.
If your order has already been dispatched we will issue a Return of Material Authorisation code (RMA) and delivery address to return your goods.
NB Please DO NOT return goods to Renaissance Learning UK Ltd without an RMA number as this could severely hamper or delay the refund process. Please contact us if you have any questions on this subject. Do not ship returns to Renaissance Learning’s London offices. Our returns and repairs department is in a separate facility, details of which will only be provided in our RMA email and response.
When returning goods always remember to include you RMA number, contact details (name, address and telephone number) and the order number detailed in your order confirmation. We would advise printing out your confirmation email and including this with your returning goods as all the correct details should be included on it.

This returns procedure does not affect your statutory rights.
If you consider that any item you have purchased is faulty, simply let us know within 7 days of receipt and return it to us for a repair, replacement or cancellation of invoice by following the Return of Material Authorisation Code (RMA) process detailed above in “Returning Goods”. Please also include a brief note documenting what you consider to be faulty.
The goods must be complete and (otherwise) undamaged and in their original packaging.
If found to be customer error/damage then the product will be immediately returned to customer and your invoice will be expected to be paid in full.
We will gladly replace your item within 7 days of the original orders return.
If you have requested a refund/credited, then please allow up to 30 days (after order returned or order cancelled) for the refund to be processed.
For your own security we recommend that you return goods either by Registered Post, Recorded Delivery or through a trackable courier that offers proof of delivery.
Renaissance Learning cannot accept liability for goods that were sent and not received unless proof of receipt can be provided.
All returns should be returned to us within 7 days of first contact with us regarding product return. If the returned product does not arrive back with us within 7 days, then the return request will no longer be considered for a refund, but will be issued with a credit note to be spent with Renaissance Learning instead.
We reserve the right to refuse a returned item if all the above terms are not met, and all returned items will be promptly returned to you.
We do not carry the postage costs for returned items.
All refunds will be minus the original postage costs.
Renaissance Learning, warrant the NEO 2 and display to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of original purchase. For rechargeable devices Renaissance Learning, warrant the rechargeable battery to be free from defects for 90 days from the date of original purchase. During this period, if a defect occurs, Renaissance Learning will, at its option, repair or replace your NEO 2 at no charge to you, provided that it is returned during the warranty period to Renaissance Learning. This warranty does not apply if your NEO has been damaged by accident or abuse, modified without the written permission of Renaissance Learning or if identifying marks (including serial numbers) or seals have been removed or defaced. There are no other warranties, expressed or implied. Renaissance Learning accepts no responsibility for consequential damages, including, but not limited to, loss of profit or benefits.
We take security seriously at Renaissance Learning. To these ends we will contact you to confirm your order prior to processing it. We reserve the right to refuse your order.
Renaissance Learning will never request Credit Card details by email and urge any customer wishing to pay by credit or debit card to contact Renaissance Learning by phone to discuss further. Alternatively you can order on our secure credit card store at http://store.alphasmart.co.uk.
Renaissance Learning does not disclose buyer’s information to third parties.
Renaissance Learning is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).
The information collected about customers is that which is entered at the time of ordering. The reason that we collect information about you is to process your order and to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent, we are replying to your correspondence, or if we need to advise you about your order.
We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.
The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.
The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.
We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a ‘cookie’ which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.
