Sharing best practices in reading

Thursday 25th June at Beauchamps High School, Wickford

You are invited to a twilight event at Beauchamps High School aimed at sharing best practices in reading. The event is free to attend, and will provide opportunities to hear from staff at Beauchamps, representatives from Renaissance Learning, and senior leaders from other schools in the region.

Beauchamps High School commits itself to providing quality education based on academic excellence, which encompasses the needs of the whole person. Its aim is to satisfy the educational needs of students, parents, the local community and to ensure community cohesion. The school has used the Accelerated Reader programme since 2006.

Hear how reading at Primary age can inspire children to a lifelong journey of discovery.

Margaret Allen, Education Business Development Manager, Renaissance Learning

Margaret is an experienced primary school teacher. As an early adopter and evangelist of interactive whiteboard technology she travelled to the US, Europe and the Middle East working with teachers in the application of ICT to support teaching and learning. Her aim is to recognise the strength of primary school teachers by offering them something which will enhance children’s education, meet the needs of the classroom, and realise the full potential of technology across the curriculum. As part of today’s multi-media environment she believes Accelerated Reader has the ability to support readers at all levels and offer teachers an insight into their comprehension, as well as offering clear paths of development.
