Learning Progressions Built for the National Curriculum
Assessments tell you what your students know. Learning Progressions in reading and maths tell you what your students are ready to learn next.
Informing planning and teaching
Learning Progressions are incorporated in the Star Assessments programmes. The learning progressions are a continuum of skills required by the curriculum, arranged into the order in which they are typically learned.
Built for the national curriculum in collaboration with NFER, Learning Progressions inform planning and teaching through skill-based reports in the Star Assessments programmes.
The research-based work conducted by NFER has been empirically validated using assessment data, ensuring that the learning progressions are a robust reflection of students’ skill acquisition and educational progression.
