Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF)

The £140 million Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF) has been set up by the government to support the delivery of school improvement, and particularly literacy provision. At Renaissance, our Special Projects Team can help support your application.

The third and final round of bidding is now open and will close at midday on Friday April 20.

The primary purpose of the SSIF is to help build a school-led system, with the aim of targeting resources at those schools most in need of improvement in terms of their performance and pupil attainment. The money is intended to support a wide range of school improvement activities, including literacy interventions such as Renaissance Star Reading and Renaissance Accelerated Reader.

Who can apply?

The DfE has set out the eligibility criteria, which focusses on need and attainment. Applications are welcome from:
Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) | Teaching school alliances | Local authorities
