Download documents about STAR Assessments
STAR Assessments have been developed for the new national curriculum in England. These documents give additional detail about STAR, how it has been developed, and how it uses the Core Progress™ Learning Progressions to bridge assessment and learning.
STAR Assessments have been designed to give you the most valid, reliable, actionable data in the least amount of testing time. Tests typically take about twenty minutes to administer, making STAR an extremely efficient assessment system.
STAR Assessments incorporate learning progressions developed in collaboration with the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER). Learning progressions are maps of the skills students need to master, derived from the curriculum standards, in the order in which they are typically learned.
STAR Assessments have been found by over 50 independent research publications to be valid and reliable. Every item has been developed for and mapped to curriculum standards. STAR tests have been take over 55,000,000 times in the last school year, yielding reliable results.
Assessments tell you what your students know. Core Progress learning progressions tell you what your students are ready to learn next.
