Increasing Reading Engagement with myON, the Digital Library

Scoil Bhríde has been using Accelerated Reader and Star Reading since 2014 to support the school's literacy strategy. In 2020, the school invested in myON, the digital Library from Renaissance, to provide access to more texts for all pupils, on any device, at any time!

Outwood Junior Academy Brumby, North Lincolnshire

Outwood Junior Academy Brumby has been using Accelerated Reader and Stare Reading since 2018 to support their reading development strategy.

In December 2021, we had the pleasure of informing the school of the good news that Outwood Junior Academy Brumby pupils had carried out the MOST Accelerated Reader quizzes in North Lincolnshire! The academy completed over 16,283 quizzes between August 2020 to November 2021.

Northcote Lodge School has been using Accelerated Reader and Star Reading since 2017 to support the school's reading development strategy. Saltergate Junior School in North Yorkshire has been using Accelerated Reader and Star Reading since 2017 to support the school's leading development strategy. In addition, since April 2020, the school has been using myON, the digital library, to widen further reading access and engagement to all pupils throughout the school.

Mission Grove Primary School has been using Accelerated Reader and Star Reading since 2006 to increase student growth and mastery in reading. Since August 2020, the school has carried out 47,104 AR quizzes and 2,794 Star Reading assessments and became the sixth school in the UK & Ireland which carried the most quizzes over the twelve months. Amid school closures, Mission Grove Primary School introduced myON to support the school’s literacy development strategy in 2020.

Ofsted Recognised Reading Strategy in the North East

Thomas Walling Primary Academy, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Thomas Walling Academy has been using Accelerated Reader and Star Reading for almost two decades, to support the school's reading development strategy! In May 2021, following a 'Good' Ofsted inspection report, the inspector made several positive observations around the school's reading development strategy and the healthy culture of reading established at Thomas Walling Academy.

On the road to recovery

Christ the Redeemer Primary School, Belfast, Northern Ireland

Christ the Redeemer School have been using Renaissance solutions for over a decade. In the midst of a global pandemic with schools across Northern Ireland being forced to partially close their doors to pupils, the school continue to maintain high levels of reading engagement and staff have managed to avoid seeing too big of a drop in learning based on recent assessment data. The school even faced an inspection at the halfway point of the pandemic and were still able to produce an accurate and detailed analysis of their pupils' progress and subsequent teaching strategies to support those who had dropped off in both reading and mathematics.
